Shaw TV is airing live coverage of the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts from Kenora on Channel 10 this weekend. Coverage starts at 2:30 pm on Saturday and begins again on Sunday at 10:00 am.

After an opening draw loss to defending champion Rachel Homan, FWCC's Krista McCarville and rinkmates Ashley Miharija, Sarah Lang and Liz Kingston have rolled off 4 straight wins. Thye entered action on Thursday tied for 2nd place with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss.

The Sudbury Curling Club is hosting the Northern Ontario MEDIChair Provincial Wheelchair Championships January 27 to 29, 2012.
 
The four team field includes Team Levesque and Team Sonego from FWCC.

Send-Off Party for Our Special Olympians

All are invited to attend a Send-Off Party at FWCC on February 21 at 7:30 pm to honour our Special Olympians who will be participating in Canada Special Olympic Games. The Games are being held in St. Albert, Alberta February 25 to March 3.
 
 
The team members are Paul Luomala (Skip), Janice Martinsen (Third), Jordan Pretchuk (Second), David Heise (Lead) and Rachel Warren (Alternate).
 
 
 

Three FWCC Teams Qualify for Men's Provincials

Next Stop: Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
 
FWCC's Joe Scharf, Jeff Currie and Mike Assad rinks have qualified for the Northern Ontario Men's Provincial Championships to be held in Sault Ste. Marie.They are among the 4 teams who will battle at FWCC in the West Qualifier to determine the final 2 spots in the Men's Provincial Championships.
 
Scharf's squad, which includes Mike McCarville, Robin Champagne and Gary Champagne, earned their spot by winning the Region 2 Playdown.
 
Assad and Currie qualified through the West Qualifier where each team finished with 4-1 records. Assad's team includes Al Hackner, Kory Carr and Jamie Childs. Team Currie members include Dylan and Cody Johnston along with Mike Badiuk.
