Kochan Rink Wins Provincial Mixed Title

Congratulations to FWCC's Craig Kochan rink who are the Northern Ontario Mixed Champions! Kochan, along with team mates Liz Kingston, Colin Koivula and Alyssa Begin won the event held March 25 to 28 in Kenora.

Cambly Represents FWCC at the Dominion Club Championship Playdown

Congrats to the team of Darryl Cambly, Rob Popien, Dave Sutton and Rick Sutton who represented FWCC at the Chronicle-Journal Inter-Club Playdowns which served as the Regional Playdown for the Dominion Curling Club Championship.

Briand Wins Downtown Volkswagen Spiel

Congratulations to Team Chris Briand who won the 2010 Downtown Volkswagen Open Bonspiel held March 19 to 21.

The Northern Ontario Curling Association unveiled the "Top 5 Moments in Northern Ontario Curling History" on March 8, 2010 and FWCC curlers dominate the list. The Top 5 Moments are:

1. “The Shot" and Al Hackner's Second Brier and World Titles (1985)
2. Team Houston Wins Back to Back Scott Titles (1988 & 89)
3. Al Hackner Rink Wins their first Brier title and World Championship (1982)
4. Heather Houston Team Wins 1989 World Championships
5. Morning Classes (1948)
