Forester Wins Investors Group Community Sports Administrator Award
Congratualtions to FWCC's Dave Forestor who has won the 2010 Investors Group Community Sport Administrator Award, in recognition of outstanding service by a volunteer in an administrative capacity.
Dave has been a long time member of the Fort William Curling Club. Currently he is working on the Energy Efficiency Committee at the club in hopes to reduce our energy costs. Over the years, Mr. Forester has unselfishly devoted his time to the club and its members. He was the Facilities Director for the Junior Nationals (2006), Facilities Chair for the Continental Cup (2003), Co- Chair FWCC elevator Addition (2007-2009), FWCC House Chairman, Ceremonies Chair and Scheduler and is was on the 2009 Wheelchair Provincial Committee. Dave is also the facilities chair for the 2011 Dominion Men’s Provincials. Dave can always been seen at the beginning middle and end of each year helping with the installation, maintenance and taking out of the ice. He is always willing to assist with any maintenance issues at the club. With Dave’s expertise, his input and hard work has made Fort William Curling Club the only wheelchair accessible club in the city. Dave devoted countless hours over the last two years making this a very successful project.
The Fort William Curling Club is very lucky to have members such as Dave Forester. HIs ongoing commitment to the club and its members is invaluable. We salute the NOCA and the Investor’s Group for formally recognizing Dave’s volunteer efforts.
