Team McCarville had a great run at the Scotties. Team McCarville (Krista McCarville, Tara George, Ashley Miharija, Kari MacLean) faced off against Kathy O'Rourke's surprising PEI rink in the semi-finals of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Sault Ste. Marie. O'Rourke moved on to the final versus the Team Canada Jennifer Jones rink. Jones won the game and their third-straight title. Along the way, Team McCarville defeated former world champion Kelly Scott of B.C. in the 3 vs. 4 page play-off game by a score of 6 to 4 (9 ends). It was an excellent game with Team McCarville shooting 82% highlighted by an impressive 88% from Krista herself. Earlier, Team McCarville had downed Manitoba's Jill Thurston in a tiebreaker. The McCarville Team finished the round robin with a record of 7-4 and in a tie with BC and Manitoba. The PEI reps fininshed the round-robin in top spot followed by Team Canada in second.
