Team Dean Preparing for Nationals
FWCC's Doug Dean squad are preparing for another shot at the National Wheelchair Curling Championships being held in Boucherville, Quebec April 24 to 30, 2017.
The defending National silver medalist team of Skip Doug Dean, Vice Gino Sonego, second Rick Bell, Lead Lola Graham and alternate Chris Provenzano successfully retained their Northern Ontario titles defeating Team Gan of Kenora CC in the final. The team is coached by Doug Gelmich and Mike Bergquist.
Dean's squad also recently captured a gold medal at the 2017 Ontario Para Sports Winter Games held in Brantford where they finished the event undefeated.

Congratulations to FWCC's Team Dean who captured a Gold Medal at the 2017 Ontario Para Sports Winter Games held in Brantford over the weekend. They finished the event undefeated. Team members include: Skip Doug Dean, Vice Gino Sonego, second Rick Bell, Lead Lola Graham and Coach Mike Bergquist.

Hackner Squad in Action at Senior Nationals
Our Al Hackner squad are the 2015 Northern Ontario Senior Men's Champions
Good luck to our Al Hackner team at the Canadian Senior Men's Curling Championships in Edmonton, AB.
Hackner's team includes Eric Harnden, Frank Morissette and Rob Thomas.
The Nationals are March 21 to 28, 2015.
Hackner defeated Sudbury's Rob Gordon 6-3 in the Northern Ontario title game on Feb. 22nd in Longlac.
Horgan Takes Tbaytel Northern Ontario Scotties Crown
Congratulations to Idylwylde G&CC's Tracy Horgan squad who are the inaugural Tbaytel Northern Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts champions.
Horgan's team defeated FWCC's own Kendra Lilly foursome in the championship game on January 17.

Team Currie Competes in their First Brier
Our Jeff Currie rink finished with a record of 2-9 at the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier in Kamloops, B.C.
The squad included Jamie Childs, Colin Koivula, Mike McCarville and Jeff Currie. Joe Scharf served as 5th.
It was the first time participating at the Brier for all the members of the team.

Champions Declared at The Dominion Curling Club Championship
FWCC proudly hosted the 5th annual The Dominion Curling Club Championships Novwember 18 to 23, 2013.

Champagne Finishes Shy of Club Provincial Play-offs
Our Rob Champagne rink finished with a record of 3-2 at the Travelers Curling Club Northern Ontario Provincial Championship March 28 to 30 in Copper Cliff. Their record left them shy of a spot in the final.

The Northern Ontario champions qualified for the Travelers Curling Club Chamionships to be held at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax.
Assad Has Good Week at Canadian Mixed

With a record of six wins and five losses, our team finished outside the three play-off spots.

Men's Provincials Wrap-up
Congrats to FWCC's Al Hackner and Jeff Currie rinks who competed in the Men's Northerns February 6 to 10 in Nipigon at the Nipigon Arena. Brad Jacobs of the Soo defended his title and will represent Northern Ontario at the Tim Hortons Brier in Edmonton.
Lappalainen Crew Takes Bronze at Telephone Nationals
Art Lappalainen (Skip), Larry Rathje (3rd), Rob Popien (2nd) and Brendan Berbenuik (Lead) represented Northern Ontario at the Telephone Employees Nationals March 19th to 23rd, 2013 at the Highland Curling Club in Regina.
Our boys captured the bronze medal! Congrats!
Lappalainen's squad defeated the Don Spakowski team in the finals to win the Northern Ontario Telephone Employees Curling Championships held at FWCC Dec. 7th to 9th, 2012.
Kallos finishes 3-6 at Ontario Scotties
Tough Final Day Friday
Our Ashley Kallos squad (Oye Sem Won Briand, Laura Vieira, Jessica Williams) finished with a record of 3-6 at the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Sault Ste. Marie. They did not qualify for play-offs.
The entered play Friday with a record of 3-3. They suffered three defeats Friday: falling 7-4 to Julie Reddick (Blue Water CC); losing 10-5 to Hollie Nicol (Donalda CC); and finally 8-5 to Kendra Lilly (North Bay Granite CC).
The top four teams qualify for the page play-offs. Of note, past champions Sherry Middaugh and Tracy Horgan did not qualify, nor did Cathy Auld who was another favourite.
