On January 11 & 12, 2008 FWCC played host to a Selection and High Performance Camp to select the first-ever Team Northern Ontario to participate in the National Wheelchair Curling Championships in Winnipeg March 23 to 29, 2008.
Team Northern Ontario members are:

Vice - Mark Wherrett (Dryden)
Second - Wayne Ficek (Kenora)
Lead - Sharon La Froye (Thunder Bay)
5th - Rick Bell (Thunder Bay)

Wheelchair Curling
The Thunder Bay Wheelchair Curling Association plays Sunday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. Anyone 18 years of age or older with a physical disability can join in to enjoy the sport of curling from a wheelchair. Basic curling instruction is provided by experienced curlers.
