Spares on a team can come from the following:
-
The Spare List: These are people who paid $100.00 and are available to any team. They can also play any position on the team.
-
A Player (FWCC member) From Another Team: These players must play lead and second if you are getting two players.
** We have an unpublished " tradition." We allow guests to play a couple of times (in hopes of getting them interested and ultimately joining our club). So if your uncle is visiting from Saskatchewan he could play with your team a couple of times, no charge.
Buzzer Rule
When the buzzers sounds, teams are to complete the end they are currently playing plus one more end (to maximum of 8 ends). Once the final stone of given end comes to rest, the next end is considered to have been started.
Note: not when lead throws first stone on next end.
Johnston Wins Club Championships
Dylan Johnston's Monday night team are FWCC's 2010-11 Club Champions. Johnston and rinkmates Justin Lewtas, Phil Kennedy and Mike Currie did it the hard way coming through the B side. They had to defeat the A-side qualifiers, the Mike Woznesensky rink, twice to take the title. As Club Champions, Johnston's team represented FWCC at the Region 2 playdown for the Dominion Curling Club Championships held at Kakabeka CC beginning March 23rd. The event was won by Dale Dubinsky's Kakabeka foursome.
